Directors

Jessica Pavlas Jessica studied journalism at New York University while working as assistant to George Whipple at NY1 writing and producing stories. She made the transition to book publishing as an intern at Carlisle & Co., and worked at McIntosh and Otis, Inc. selling foreign rights for classic authors such as John Steinbeck and Harper Lee. She now works at Trident Media Group as assistant to Jenny Bent and Scott Miller.

Noa Walsky After graduating from Cornell University, Noa spent a year in Boston researching global family and employment concerns at the Harvard School of Public Health. In the fall of 2004, Noa moved to New York where she has since worked at HarperCollins Publishers in the newly-created HarperMedia imprint, specializing in e-books and downloadable audiobooks.

Founders

Nicole Diamond Austin After graduating from Yale University in 1999, Nicole spent three years in the Touchstone Fireside division of Simon & Schuster, acquiring and editing projects including Delilah's LOVE SOMEONE TODAY and Elizabeth Aston's MR. DARCY'S DAUGHTERS. In 2002, she joined The Creative Culture, Inc., a literary agency, and there she represented clients including Patti Teel (THE FLOPPY SLEEP GAME BOOK) and T. Mike Childs (THE ROCKLOPEDIA FAKEBANDICA). In 2005, Nicole took a hiatus from publishing (and from New York) and moved to Los Angeles, where she currently attends business school at UCLA Anderson.

Kara Howland After graduating from Stanford University and working in a bookstore and for a literary agent in California, Kara decided to move to New York. She got her start in publishing at Dutton, working for the Editor in Chief. After being in editorial for two and a half years and trying her hand at a film and television production company, Kara decided to return to the publishing fold and went to work in the subsidiary rights department at Crown, where she was responsible for selling first serial and book club rights, amongst others.
